Privacy Policy

Keepling ("the app", "we", "us") helps parents keep small moments of their child growing up. We designed Keepling to be private by default. This policy explains what data the app handles and how.

1. Who the app is for

Keepling is intended for use by parents and guardians (adults). It is not directed to children and is not intended to be used by children. The app may contain information that a parent chooses to record about their child; that content is controlled by the parent (see below).

2. Data stored on your device

Everything you create in Keepling — your child's name and date of birth, notes, photos, voice recordings, moods and milestones — is stored locally on your device. We do not operate servers that receive or store this content, and we cannot see it.

3. Google Drive backup (optional)

If you choose to connect Google Drive (a premium feature), Keepling creates a single backup file and stores it in your Drive's hidden, app-private appDataFolder. We request only the drive.appdata permission, which limits the app to this private folder — Keepling cannot read the rest of your Google Drive. The backup lives in your Google account, not ours. You can delete it at any time from your Google account's app-data settings.

4. Analytics and crash reporting

Keepling uses Google Firebase Crashlytics and Google Analytics for Firebase so we can find out when the app crashes or breaks. These send us technical information: the device model and operating system version, the app version, crash details, and events describing which parts of the app were used — for example that a moment was saved, or that a purchase failed.

The content of your moments is never sent. Your notes, photos, voice recordings, your child's name and date of birth stay on your device and are not included in these reports.

If you use the in-app problem report, the description you write is sent to us along with the same technical information, so that we can answer it.

5. Advertising (free version)

The free version shows ads via Google AdMob. To serve ads, Google and its partners may collect and use a device advertising identifier and related data. Please review Google's advertising policy. Where required (for example in the EEA/UK), you will be asked for consent. Subscribing to Keepling Premium removes ads.

6. Purchases

Keepling Premium is sold as a subscription processed by Google Play Billing. We do not receive or store your payment details; payment is handled by Google.

7. Device permissions

• Camera / Photos — only to let you add photos to a moment. Photos stay on your device.
• Microphone — only to let you record short voice notes. Recordings stay on your device.
• Notifications — only to send the daily reminder, if you turn it on. Reminders are created on your device, not sent from a server.
• Internet — used for ads (free version), crash and analytics reporting, and Google Drive backup (if enabled).

8. Sharing & export

You can share a moment as an image, or export a backup file or a PDF album using your device's share sheet. When you do, you choose the destination (Drive, Files, a messaging app, email). That action is entirely under your control, and the file does not pass through us.

9. Data retention & deletion

Uninstalling Keepling removes all data stored on your device. To remove a Google Drive backup, delete the app data from your Google account (drive.google.com → Settings → Manage apps), or use the in-app disconnect option.

10. Children's data

Any information about a child that a parent records is treated as the parent's personal content: stored locally and, if enabled, in the parent's own Google Drive. We do not collect it, sell it, or share it.

11. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
